HOTMAIL I'm not sure whether the hotmail problem still exists. If you receive this via hotmail, please let me know. Thanks. CLASS OF 74 REUNION Nancy Ziliotto 74 wrote and said they're not making any progress on the Class of 74 reunion plans for this year. She lives in SoCal and wants someone to takeover planning the reunion. There's no location reserved and no money for a deposit and the meters running. If you would like to help with the Class of 74's 25th reunion please let me know. Otherwise, Nancy says "It's a shame, but I have a gut feeling we won't even be having a reunion." You guys need some one to step up and take charge of the 25th reunion plans. There are 32 alumni from the class of 74 on the email list. Plus over 100 class of 74 alumni in the database. Check the 74 class directory for details. You can't skip the 25 year reunion! CLASS OF 79 REUNION Laura Graff 79 wrote that they have a date and place for the 20th reunion: Class of 1979 20th reunion Date: September 25 Place: Hilton off of Arden Way Information: Great Reunions (Bruce): 800-655-7971 DAN TUNING 79 As Encina webmaster, I'm slowly building an alumni database from the information given me by alumni. As I process each contact information form, I'm always pleased when there are siblings and other alumni listed, as it helps to expand the list of alumni who are reachable, however indirectly. At the present time, the alumni database has over 2700 listings. This week I got an email from Dan Tuning 79, which had a record number of new contacts for lost Encina alumni. And they're all relatives. Thanks Dan! Here's the list Dan gave me: Cheryl Tuning Strain 61 (Dan's mother!) Kendall Tuning 82 Wally Strain 72 Lana Strain 68? Michelle Strain 76 Lad Wentzel 76 Rob McClernon ?? (through Lad Wentzel 76) Randy Wentzel 66 or 67 Guy Wentzel 71 Tami Wentzel 81 Bevan Woodbury 78 Denise Woodbury 81 (but graduated early) Michael Woodbury (Encina?) Shane Poplawski 72 Brent Poplawski Bing Haas 80 Tab Haas 79 Kent Haas 74 Kit Haas ?? Scott Anderson 80 Dave Anderson 85 Debra Anderson 75 Bruce Anderson ?? Now that's impressive! Dan explained that both of his maternal grandparents came from families of 10 children, so he has about 350-400 relatives in Sacramento! Dan even included email addresses for Wally Strain and Lad Wentzel, who gave me additional information. Lad Wentzel 76 sent me: Rob McClernon ?? Shane Poplawski's email address. Wayne Christie 72 Chris Christie 74 Cheryl Christie 76 plus details about his siblings Guy 71, Tami 81 and Randy 66 And Wally Strain 72 sent me details on his siblings. Dan wasn't sure about the class years for some of these folks. If you know please write. If have siblings, or your spouse is an alumni, or you know some other Encina alumni who you think aren't in the database, please write so I can include them in the alumni database and class directories. These are a major resource of the Encina website and they can only grow with your help... SECOND GENERATION Dan Tuning 79 is a second generation Encinian since his mother Cheryl Tuning 61 was in the first graduating class. Tom Larson 64 also had two sons Bryan 89 and Shawn 91 who are second generation Encinians. But being a 79, Dan is the FIRST of the second generation of Encinians. Anyone else who's a second generation Encinian? CLASS OF 73 Many thanks to John Ward 73 for loaning me his copy of the May 1973 Encina Tomahawk. This was the graduation issue for our class and contains all kinds of cool articles about the class of 73. I'll be scanning in some of it and publishing it on the 73 homepage. So far I've scanned in the group photo of the class of 73 taken in the gym, which shows most of the seniors: http://www.encinahighschool.com/class73/index.html Click on the thumbnail photo to see a full size version and see if you can find yourself. And see if you can find me. If other classes have similar photos, I would be glad to add the pictures to their class' homepage. TIMOTHY B SCHMIT '65 Several alumni have expressed an interest in contacting Timothy Schmit. I talked with Tom Phillips 65 (who's married to my wife's cousin), who's a good friend of Timothy. Timothy would prefer not to give out his phone or address and he's not online. However, Timothy gave Tom an address where you can reach him: Timothy B Schmit c/o Giant-Revolution 3500 West Olive Ave, Suite #600 Burbank, CA 91505 Tom says he and Timothy are the last two alumni without email or a PC. I even tried to loan Tom a WebTV but they turned me down... HALL OF FAME Joe Green 72 sent me the URL for his band: www.joegreen.com "Joe Green and The Jackson Highway Band is composed of five members. This dynamic, energetic group bridges the gap between Traditional Country and the Hot New Country of today. The electricity between them, and the unique style of this band captivates audiences of all ages, regardless of their preference in music. Joe Green's songwriting talent is prevalent in the original songs the band performs, and proof can be found on their recent release, A Storm Coming On. The band is making a name for themselves, opening for acts like Lonestar, Daryle Singletary, Ronna Reeves, Big House, and Tom T. Hall. They have also performed at The California State Fair. They are seasoned performers, they have also played venues such as Waterworld USA, Jackson Rancheria Casino, and California State University Sacramento. And true to country music, they also play the small clubs and restaurants, such as the Sloughhouse Inn and Rudy's Hideaway." Very nice website and you can even listen to his songs... ALUMNI SEARCH I haven't run the full list for a while so here's the list of alumni being sought by other alumni. Let me know if you know how to contact any of these folks: 1962 Brenda Baker Shelly Ready 1967 Brian Egger Kathy Shook 1968 Karen Rhodes Ann Schirle Kathleen Wilkerson 1969 Gail Bogavich Steve Bradshaw 1970 Mike Fong Jack Graves Jim Graves Cathy Jordan Nancy Rhinehart 1971 Ruth Mack 1973 Craig Blake Sally Hurd Peggy Hutchinson/Hutchison?
