Encina alumni,

Holy cow, now I know how to get a response to an emailing!

Just send out a politically oriented message...

Seriously, I want to thank everyone who responded. Many of you took the 
time to write long, detailed notes explaining how you felt. Others just 
flamed me. Sigh. Regardless of whether you agreed or disagreed with 
Larry's message, the overwhelming consensus was that the Encina alumni 
list should not be used to distribute political messages. Period.

I'll have to admit I forwarded Larry's memo with some trepidation. 
But Larry has been very helpful with the Encina website and I sort 
of viewed it as a quid pro quo.

In the future, I will be glad to forward alumni messages to the entire 
Encina mailing list or individual class mailing lists, provided they 
are related to Encina oriented matters like reunions and so on. 
Please do not ask me to forward any other types of messages...

I'm sorry if you were offended and it won't happen again.
