Subject:  Alumni Challenge Update

 
 

ENCINA ALUMNI,

This is another alumni challenge update. Just a reminder that
the early bird deadline is Tuesday, May 1st. The cost is $20
per adult up to and including May 1st. The cost increases to
$25 after May 1st. Don't procastinate any longer!

You may receive this twice, I've sent it to both the Encina Update
mailing list and the individual class mailing lists.

Keith DeLuca Paulsen 81 has pledged $1 for every RSVP to the
alumni challenge by Wednesday, May 2nd, plus $2 for every
RSVP from the class of 81. This is in addition to all his other pledges
for blocked shots and cheerleaders.

We have about 105-110 rsvps as of Sunday night Keith...

CHALLENGE TO ALL CLASSES

CLASS PLEDGES

Chuck Armstrong 77's classmates Bill Farley, Tricia Ford, Mike Martis,
Kevin Meechan, Herb Niederberger and Jeff Slater have pledged $30 for
each point that Chuck scores during the game.

This means each point Chuck scores is actually worth $271.56 !

Give that man the ball !

I asked Kim Bettencourt Bjorlund 81 and Bob Bjorklund 80 whether their
daughters might be interested in dressing as mascots and leading some
cheers:
"We talked to our daughters about dressing up as Apache Mascots, during the
basketball game. If it would earn money for Encina, they will both be happy
to.
Will Carol Markell '78 be willing to pay for child mascots?

We also talked to them about possibly leading some cheers, and they are will
to try.
It would definitely help if there were some alumni cheerleaders leading
them.

We are able to borrow and Indian costume for our youngest daughter.
However,
we do not have one for our oldest. She is a size 12 to 14 children's or a
size 2 or
XS adult. Is their anyone who might have one we can use for her?

Bob and I were talking about where the girls should be placed on the RSVP
list.
Since they will both graduate closest to the class of '81, we thought that
our family
should have three for the class of '81 and one for the class of '80. What
do you think,

Come on folks, it's one thing to wear your cheerleader
or songleader or mascot costume yourself, but I hope
we can get some folks to lend their costumes for a good
cause. It's worth another $100 to Encina if we can find
costumes for Terri and Kathy Webber Gill 82.

We still need a cheerleader volunteer from 78-80...


HALFTIME

I don't know whether this is long enough to stage some sort of event for
the audience. Gerry Coppock 78 suggested we have a halfcourt shot
competition. Either we could give away a donated prize or someone could
pledge some amount if someone made the shot. We're open to suggestions
and pledges <g> for fun activities to get the kids and crowd involved.
